This Fish Swims Fast

Traffic in China, we have decided, is organized chaos. There are lanes painted on the roads, but as Jason observed, they are just suggestions. Buses, taxis, bikes, mopeds, and pedestrians all compete for space and everyone wants to go in different directions. Amazingly we've only seen one accident, and no one was injured.

We've been taking tour buses everywhere we go and the trick, as a passenger, apparently, is just not to pay attention to the traffic outside the window. Our drivers have been good so far, but the one in Xi'an was particularly impressive. He is pictured in front of our bus. Alice, our guide, said that Chinese drivers must be like fish in traffic. So we agreed that regarding our driver, this fish swims fast!
